I love to fill my home with amazing scents during the holidays, and there’s no better combination than citrus and cranberry mixed with cinnamon and spices. This is a simple recipe that you can simmer on your stovetop or in a crockpot to help fill your home with these delicious scents. This is also great to use during an open house to make your home smell inviting. Either way, take time to enjoy the scents of the season!
And if your home is for sale, it’s also a great way to make your home inviting during an open house.
The recipe below is just a guide – you can customize and use different amounts depending on the scents your family enjoys.
Option 2 – Christmas edition
3 sprigs evergreen or handful pine needles
2 cinnamon sticks
2 whole cloves
Option 3 – Winter Fresh
2 cups dried rosemary
2 cups dried lavender
1 cup dried eucalyptus leaves
1/2 cup dried peppermint or spearmint
1/2 cup dried bay leaves
Directions: Fill a pot with water and add your favorite ingredients to simmer. Bring to a boil for a few minutes. Then turn the heat down to simmer all day. Add water as needed.
*Caution – set your time for 30 minutes to remind you to top with water so your pot doesn’t burn dry. Never leave your home with something on the stove.
I hope you enjoy this as much as I do!
